Back 4 Blood River of Blood Expansion Announced

Turtle Rock Studios and Warner Bros. Games have announced the next major expansion for the zombie shooter Back 4 Blood. The upcoming expansion called River of Blood is set to launch on 6 December for PS4, PS5, Xbox and PC. It is included in the game’s Annual Pass, Deluxe Edition and Ultimate Edition. Users can also purchase it as a standalone pack when it launches.

Turtle Rock Studios says that River of Blood will feature a whole new campaign to experience in a new Act 6 content. This includes five new maps to explore with new objectives to complete, enemies to kill and challenges to participate in. There is also a new Cleaner releasing with River of Blood too. Her name is Tala, a former cultist outcast. Tala can summon her friendly companion Jeff at any time during a mission. Jeff is a Ridden Tallboy who is a friendly companion in the game instead of the deadly ones you shoot to kill. The studio says Jeff can actually be called by all Cleaners in the game after the expansion launches.

River of Blood also comes with eight exclusive character skins and 12 exclusive weapon skins. Of course, there are new weapons, accessories and cards to collect throughout the game.

Outside of the River of Blood expansion, the studio is also releasing free content for Back 4 Blood. The mode called Trial of the Worm is a free PvE update for all players. This co-op mode sees players proceed through a four-map chain of stages while earning supply points along the way. Players can add Corruption Modifiers to the maps and even increase the difficulty to boost the amount of Supply Points earned. There’s also an online leaderboard to set scores on.

Back 4 Blood will also see the return of its Holiday Event on 6 December. The event will run until 4 January and players can unlock cool festive cosmetics and decorations for their characters and weapons.
