Ember is a cool little company making one of the coolest pieces of tech that you wouldn’t think twice about, the Ember Mug, and it’s currently on sale for Black Friday. Normally the mug is around $130 at full price. But it’s currently down to $90 which is the lowest it’s been in the last 30 days.

I know what you’re probably thinking. “$90 for a mug?” But this isn’t just any mug. It’s a temperature controlled smart mug that keeps your coffee or tea, or any hot drink, at the perfect temperature. Now when I say perfect temperature I’m referring to “your” perfect temperature. Because what might be yours could be different from mine. The point is, the Ember Mug is a pretty awesome little device. It has heating coils in the base that keep the liquid on the inside of the mug hot. And it does this based on whatever temperature you set for it in the Ember app.

I use this most mornings when it’s pretty cold. And it always keeps my coffee hot. More importantly though, it keeps my coffee at the temperature I set. If I use a regular mug on cold mornings, the issue is that it tends to cool the coffee down faster than usual. But with the Ember Mug I can actually finish drinking the coffee before it cools down. You can set the temperature to between 120-degrees and 145-degrees, and the mug will last for 80 minutes on a single charge.

If you don’t drink your coffee that quickly not to worry. The mug comes with an included coaster that you can set it down on. And this keeps it charged all day so if you want to sip your coffee or tea over a longer period of time you can. Another feature I really liked is that the mug goes to sleep automatically after it’s empty. You can only hand wash this device which means no putting it in the dishwasher. Also worth noting is that the $90 sale is only for the white color of the mug. If you’re tired of your coffee or tea getting cold you can snag your own Ember Mug from the link below.
