Jordan Poyer injury update ahead of Week 9 matchup

Strong safety at the outset Jordan Poyer attended practice on Wednesday but did not participate. He is reportedly listed as week-to-week after aggravating an elbow ailment prior to the Bills’ Week 9 matchup with the Jets.

The Pro Football Docs determined that Poyer’s left elbow injury, which occurred when his arm hyperextended, dislocated, and he “felt a pop” while trying a tackle late in the third quarter, was consistent with a ruptured UCL.

Poyer won’t require surgery to fix the apparent rupture because he doesn’t throw, and he should be able to return in a few weeks with a stronger brace.

The 31-year-left old’s elbow was initially hyperextended on August 2 but he recovered in time for Week 1 and has played the season while wearing a brace.

Since moving to Buffalo in 2022, Poyer has participated in 84 of 88 games. However, he missed Week 3 due to a foot ailment and Week 5 due to a rib issue that prevented him from flying and had him to travel by car to Kansas City.
