Of course, we still recommend taking this with a massive grain of salt. Video game Twitter accounts often share images or artwork from previous entries without them really leading to anything. It’s also worth noting that Ubisoft is already working a Prince of Persia remake with The Sands of Time. The Prince of Persia series went dormant following the release of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands in 2022. Ubisoft shifted its focus to other IPs including Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry since then, but fan demand was high enough for the company to revive the franchise via Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, which is still without a concrete release date. Development of the remake was moved to Ubisoft Montreal after problems surfaced with original studios Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai.
It might be a while until we see a new Prince of Persia game, but we’ll take remakes and remasters for now.
